iFLEX, Varyflex V2 Offset Presses
LECCO, Italy—Customers from every corner the world visited Omet’s premises in Lecco
on May 19 to welcome the company’s two new presses: iFLEX, a narrow web press for labels,
and Varyflex V2 Offset mid web variable size press for flexible package printing.
The event started with the unveiling of the iFLEX, followed
by demos on both the iFLEX and Varyflex V2 Offset presses.
The 200 guests, a mix of customers, potential customers and
journalists, were introduced to Omet’s machines and assisted in
demos highlighting the user friendliness, operational efficiency,
ergonomics and rapid changeover.
iFLEX, an entry level machine for labels, accentuates its simplicity of use, incredibly short
setup times and low waste operation. On iFLEX, innovative devices like iLIGHT, a pre reg-
ister system through laser pointers, and iVISION, a smart camera assisted register on each
print unit, left attendees with positive impressions.
Taylor Corp. to Acquire Standard Register, Inc.
NORTH MANKATO, MN—Taylor Corp., one of the U.S.’s largest privately held companies
and one of the top 10 graphics communications companies in North America, announced
that it will acquire the assets of Dayton, OH based Standard Register, Inc.
The acquisition is the result of Taylor Corp.’s successful bid for the company through a bank-
ruptcy auction. Final approval of the sale is subject to resolution of outstanding objections
before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Delaware. With this acquisition, Taylor
expects to add more than 3,000 employees from Standard Register locations around the U.S.
Nilpeter Receives Visit From Danish Prime Minister
SLAGELSE, Denmark—The Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, visited
printing machine manufacturer Nilpeter at its headquarters in
Slagelse on June 2 as part of her reelection campaign. She talked
to management and employees in the factory.
During the one hour visit, the Prime Minister made a tour of the
factory assembly, the machine shop and the Technology Center.
MPS Celebrates New
Headquarters With Successful Event
ARNHEM, Netherlands—MPS announces a successful official opening event of its new
headquarters in Arnhem, held on May 29. Wim van den Bosch, CEO of MPS and Michiel
Scheffer, regional minister in the province of Gelderland (The Netherlands) officially cut the
red ribbon in front of more than 250 guests including MPS customers, partners and suppli-
ers in addition to Ine van Burgsteden, city counselor of Arnhem.
Guests received a tour through the new factory, offices, and the
new expertise and technology center where demonstrations of
the EF multisubstrate flexo press were presented. The center,
which also showcases the EB label press, will be a valuable
resource for customers, suppliers and partners for training and
collaborating on new label printing applications and innovations.
Inland Adding 50,000
Sq. Ft. to La Crosse,
LA CROSSE, WI—Inland is excited to
announce the addition of 50,000 sq. ft . of
facilities near its Airport Road location in
La Crosse, WI.
The new space, which will house Inland’s
finished goods warehousing and distri-
bution, follows the company’s rebrand
announcement in March of this year. The
rebrand was a strategic decision, based on
the company’s growth and expansion into
