Home' FLEXO Magazine : October 2015 Contents Monday ends with a presentation by Bobst Firenze S.r.L . CEO
Federico D’Annunzio, who will go into greater depth regarding his
company’s Digital Flexo Excellence suite of technologies. Designed to
automate many of the once manually controlled aspects of the flexo
workflow, increase efficiencies, and deliver high productivity, cost
reduction and consistent quality, D’Annunzio will explain how Digital
Flexo Excellence continues flexography’s dominance heading into the
next generation of converters.
Day two of Fall Conference will use the FLEXO Magazine supplement
as an example through which presenters will cover the five methods:
• The Methods of Optimization—Jim Kulhanek, DuPont Packag-
ing Graphics and PJ Fronczkiewicz, Flint Group
• The Methods of Fingerprinting—Mark Samworth, Esko
• The Methods of Process Control—Ann Michaud, 3M and John
• The Methods of Characterization—Richard Black, All Printing
Resources and Steve Upton, CHROMiX, Inc.
• The Methods of Continuous Improvement—Joe Riccardella,
Berry Plastics and Robb Frimming, Schawk
On the final day, print samples from the FLEXO cover supplement
will be analyzed in two ways. First, Robinson and FTA’s Educational
Director Joe Tuccitto will give hands on experience at visually in-
specting the cover, giving a concrete foundation to a highly subjective
Then, Frimming and Larry Goldberg, Beta Industries will teach the
ins and outs of measuring and analyzing print production data, and
using that information to objectively form an opinion about a print’s
quality and adherence to the mantra of printing to the numbers.
“In many cases, evaluating print is a subjective process. Attending Fall
Conference will allow printers to follow the science of a production
run from start to finish, including seeing and evaluating the live data,”
note Farrell and Robinson. “We will separate subjectivity from objec-
tivity and change from art to science. We often have the opportunity
to hear about the process, but Fall Conference is going to be a hands
on learning experience, giving attendees the chance to live it while the
presenters bring it all together.” n
As of press time, more than 60 companies are planning to
exhibit at Fall Conference 2015. Over the three day event,
attendees will be able to see the companies’ latest and
greatest offerings. Representatives will be on site to engage
in focused, one on one discussions to see how these solu-
tions fit into existing workflows.
“This year the 400 plus Fall Conference attendees will see
70 exhibiting companies. The list of suppliers is both a
record and the most comprehensive ever, for a FTA Fall
Conference,” said Jay Kaible, FTA’s director of membership
& business development. “Attendees will see essential
elements of flexo to new developments in multiprocess
printing technologies and converting. Fall Conference is
equipped to help you find the right solutions for your plant,
your customers, your budget and your bottomline.”
