AWT Labels & Packaging to Install W&H
Press at IL Location
SOUTH ELGIN, IL—AWT Labels & Packaging will be installing a new 52-in., 10-color
W&H Miraflex central impression (CI) press at its South Elgin facility. The new press is
equipped with 10 printing decks, automated washup decks and several state of the art setup
reduction modules that allow for faster makereadies and color changes, automated viscosity
controls for more consistent print quality, and automated tension controls.
The press also has the capability to register a top coat to an already printed design. The press
will accept roll widths from 31.5-in. to 52-in. and can print an image up to 50-in. wide. The
large repeat capabilities up to 31.5 -in. will accommodate large format bags and pouches.
Mark Andy to Debut Digital One Press at
ST. LOUIS, MO—At Labelexpo Americas 2016, Mark Andy will debut Digital One, a new
entry level digital printing and converting label press. Designed to print short run prime
labels with inline converting at an unprecedented low investment level, Digital One is an
ideal solution to introduce digital printing to any business.
The new all in one press,
offering 4-color CMYK
digital process at a 1,200
x 1,200 dpi resolution on
a pay as you go model,
combined with a single
flexo station for inline
converting and decorat-
ing, promises to deliver a
profitable solution for the
growing demand for short
run. The standardized
configuration features a
web width of 13-in. with
printing speeds reaching 63 fpm on various substrates including pressure sensitive paper
and film, unsupported paper and tag stocks. The servo driven flexo station offers capabil-
ities to spot color, varnish, laminate and cold foil with inline finishing offering diecutting,
stripping and slitting capabilities.
PC Industries to Showcase Print Solutions at
ROSEMONT, IL—At Labelexpo Americas, PC Industries will present printers and convert-
ers with improved capabilities of its flagship system the Guardian PQV 100 percent inspec-
tion. The PQV3 offers automatic job changeover on the fly for digital printers to seamlessly
continue 100 percent inspection on press. In addition, automated remote job setup off press
helps flexo printers reduce downtime when frequently changing jobs.
The system offers relative color measurement (Delta E) as an available feature. Absolute
color measurement to ISO standards can be provided with the GV-Spectro, inline spectro-
photometer based system. The PQV3 offers advanced, high performance 1-D and 2-D bar
code verification to ANSI and ISO standards. Grading and verification can now be done
at higher speeds while maintaining accuracy and minimum code size. The system also can
verify human readable characters using OCR/OCV technology.
