RotoMetrics, Electro Optic to Merge
ST. LOUIS, MO & ALPHARETTA, GA—RotoMetrics and Electro
Optic have announced plans to merge. The merger brings together
two of the label and printing industry’s strongest brands to offer
customers the most comprehensive and highest quality rotary tooling
products on the market. The merger also creates unprecedented op-
portunity for customers to receive the most reliable precision cutting
solutions, service and support to enhance their own responsiveness
and efficiency anywhere in the world.
Each organization brings distinct advantages to the merger from an
operating, sales, technical services and manufacturing perspective to
better serve customers and partners. In addition, the merger will allow
employees in both organizations to scale best practices and develop
into new expanded roles to better serve key stakeholders.
RotoMetrics will continue to operate from its global headquarters in
St. Louis, with supporting offices across the globe and manufacturing
facilities on five continents. Electro Optic will continue to operate its
global headquarters in Großmehring, Germany and have a supporting
office in Mumbai, India servicing India, Asia and Africa, while the
Alpharetta manufacturing, service and support site will continue to
service the Americas.
Resource Label Group to Acquire
Cellotape, Inc. & Landmark Label
MEMPHIS, TN—Resource Label Group, LLC continues to expand
its portfolio with the recent acquisition of California based Cellotape,
Inc. and its sister company Landmark Label. It is the latest in a string
of such acquisitions by Resource Label Group.
Cellotape is considered a pioneer in label technology and a trusted
source of innovative packaging solutions to the electronics and medi-
cal device industries. Cellotape offers custom flexo and digital printed
labels, overlay panels, nameplates, NFC and RFID enabled smart
labeling (through its Smart Products group), large format printing,
diecut components and screen printing among its many capabili-
ties. Established in 1986, the multi award winning Landmark Label
provides pressure sensitive labels across a wide range of industries
including wine and spirits, specialty beverage, food, nutraceuticals,
and health and beauty.
With the completion of the acquisition—its eighth in the last three
years—Resource Label Group now operates 11 manufacturing facili-
ties throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Siegwerk Makes Pair of Acquisitions
SIEGBURG, Germany & BENDERN, Liechtenstein—Siegwerk
has signed a contract to purchase U.K . based Hi-Tech Products Ltd.
and to purchase the Plastic Tubes and Laminates business unit from
Hi-Tech Products, a specialist supplier of water based inks and
coatings, develops and manufactures high quality water based flexo
inks, mainly for printing on corrugated board packaging. Through
this acquisition, Siegwerk is once again expanding its product and
service offering for the packaging market. The integration of the
acquired products into Siegwerk’s water based ink offering will enable
customers from Hi-Tech Products to benefit from a more comprehen-
sive product portfolio and the wider technological expertise offered
SCHEKOLIN AG is a global leading provider of packaging lacquers
located in Liechtenstein. This acquisition broadens Siegwerk’s port-
folio by adding specialty UV varnishes suitable for plastic packaging,
including rigid tubes. The varnishes can be applied on a wide range of
laminates and tubes based on plastic substrates like PE, PP, ABS, PC
and PS. This product line expansion further strengthens the com-
pany’s position as a full range provider for packaging applications.
The purchase offer includes the transfer of all technical expertise and
product portfolio as well as the manufacturing equipment related to
SCHEKOLIN’s Plastic Tubes and Laminates business unit.
Danaher to Acquire Advanced Vision
HOD HASHARON, Israel—Advanced Vision Technology Ltd.
(AVT) announced it has entered into a definitive merger agreement
with Pelican Merger Holdings Israel Ltd. pursuant to which it will be
acquired by Danaher Corp.’s Product Identification Platform. The
acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2017.
AVT’s inline inspection systems are used by the world’s top packaging
and label converters to improve product quality and efficiency of their
operations. Many of the same customers are served by X-Rite and
Esko, market leading companies within Danaher’s Product Identifi-
cation Platform. By way of the acquisition, combining AVT’s strong
position in print inspection and quality control with X-Rite’s color
inspection capabilities and Esko’s packaging workflow will enable all
three companies to offer solutions that simplify management of com-
plex packaging value chains for both converters and brand owners.
