HLN - HOME LIVING: NORTH, Tuesday, February 10, 2009 1 HOMELIVING Rolling in ideas PAULINE PRIEST Rolling in ideas With the myriad paint charts and tips and decorator dos and don'ts you would imagine it easy to paint and decorate your home, but for many of us it's still a challenge. Get some good advice so when you paint and decorate the house it will appeal to most people. If you want to sell your property and you have painted and decorated it outlandishly, it will appeal to fewer buyers and perhaps lessen the chances of a quick sale. One of the most difficult things I find is choosing a paint colour. Having a favourite colour doesn't always help. Mine is yellow so I painted most of the interior that shade, which I thought was very cheery. However it wore badly, was noticeable when the paint chipped and didn't last as long as I thought it should. Using neutral shades with a feature wall in a more vibrant colour is popular these days. If you tire of the feature wall colour it is a simple measure to repaint it. ............................................
