FLEXO Magazine : February 2009
TWOMEY: We've been fortunate to be surrounded by unbelievable professionals. What a great experience! In this economic environment, where many folks are pan- icking, our Forum Committee seems to be focusing on what needs to be done, and we have a lot of fun, too. There is a ton of ex- citement and drive from the session chairs, and we believe it will be reflected in the content you see in Orlando. To say we were honored to be asked to be Forum chair and co-chair is an understate- ment. We must, however, give credit where credit is due. We've made some amazing personal friends and met some incredibly talented people during this adventure. Their attention to detail and unbelievable passion about our industry has kept us on task in assembling the team for Forum, and the incredible content for the sessions. "No" is not in our-the Forum Committee's-vocabulary. If we believe it is important, we focus on how we can make this happen for FTA members; we seize the mission and we get it accomplished. Truly, some dedicated industry volun- teers that serve on the Forum Committee are responsible for our sessions, and in our not-so-humble opinions, they have outdone themselves. Mark Cistemino, Tony Dalleore, Mark Coffman, Randy Butler, Mark Vanover, Allen Marquardt, Doreen Monteleone, Paul Lodewyck, Jean Jackson, Dave Nunez, Dan Dietrich Ruth Buckley, Richard Black, Paul Kearns, Mark Edlein, John Daugherty, Joe Schlinkert...Thank you! And thanks heartily to your companies for the time dedicated to make this one of the best Forums ever! Q . The Prepress Session is usuallY pop- . ulated with some of the most popu- lar presentations, yet this year it is entirelY a roundtable and Q.B(A series. What were the reasons for the format changes? ENGELKE: FTA members and past Forum attendees provided us with com- ment cards that outlined exactly what they want to see at future FFTA Forums. We read every one of those cards, absorbed both the positive reviews and encouraging criticism and took note of the overwhelm- ing desire to have more consumer product companies (CPCs) present and participat- ing in the program. That desire was docu- mented by all market segments. We felt that inviting the CPC constitu- ents to discuss what's important to them We're more than anilox rolls.
