FTA TODAY “I am fl attered and thrilled to be the 2010 Forum chair and I’m Coffman Engelke FFTA Names Forum 2010 Chair Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association (FFTA) has named Jean Engelke, Alcan Packaging, Neenah WI, to chair its 2010 Forum. The event is scheduled for May 2-5, 2010, at Paris Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV. Engelke presently serves as co-chair of FFTA’s 2009 Forum, now taking place at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort, Lake Buena Vista, FL. Her ascension to Forum chair sets a precedent for the future. FFTA intends to immediately begin designating a Forum chair-elect. That individual will serve a two-year term. Year-One will be spent as Forum co-chair and in Year-Two, he/she will lead the event-planning team. Mark Coff man, Dixie Graphics, Snelville, GA; is the fi rst person to accept the post of Forum chair-elect. Sideby-side with Engelke, he will plan the 2010 Forum, before stepping into the lead planner role for Forum 2011. Exact dates and location of that meeting will be released shortly. even more thrilled that Mark will be my co-chair,” Engelke said in accepting the appointment. “I’m happy to have had the experience as co-chair of this year’s Forum, which has prepared me for the challenges coming up, and allowed me to begin nurturing some ideas.” She also expressed hopes that, “With Forum 2009 underway, we’re looking for as much feedback as possible. We need attendees to help us strengthen Forum by helping us assemble a program to best suit their needs. My hope is to be able to bolster the always critical numbers of printers/converters in attendance. “ In similar fashion, Coff man stated, “I appreciate FFTA’s confi - dence in asking me to co-chair Forum 2010 with Jean. I look forward to it as a learning experience. We’re already looking for new volunteers to assist us in getting a message out to printers and converters. Our mission is to make them understand what Forum has to off er and how it can benefi t their business. I do think we can bring about an increase in attendance via an eff ective wordof-mouth campaign.” ■
