Rossini Scholar Project Update On Aug. 7, Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.) held its 2009 Undergradu- ate Research Symposium. Among the presenters was Andrew Henry, a student in the Printing Department and one of three 2009 Rossini Scholarship recipients, who updated attendees on his research. To date, Henry has completed the work scoped out in his application for the scholarship, and noted he would spend the rest of the month doing the final write-up. His research found that a fully functional alkaline battery was print- able using flexography, with a 1.4V potential. An inexpensive uncoated substrate offered the best print performance. Henry, who is only in his second year at R.I.T., stated that he is planning additional research on this subject. Among his interest is the possibility of printing electrolumines- cent panel technology for displaying different images through the print.
