Two of the Jeep models available through that period
were the CJ5 and CJ6. To offer more power than the
standard four cylinder engines Willys Motors sourced
and ftted the Australian Ford engine used at that
time. It is well documented that for a time the CJ5
and CJ6 ftted with the Ford engine were known as the Combat
6. There were unique features for the Combat 6 including a
modifed frewall, different engine mounts, adaptor plate between
Willys Motors Australia assembled the Jeep product in
Australia between 1958 and 1970.

Something that isn’t well known about the Combat 6 and
was pointed out to me by Vaughn Becker was the presence of
a Combat 6 sticker just below the Jeep emblem on the guards.
Vaughn owns a CJ6 Combat 6 and in it's original condition the
remnants of a Combat 6 sticker can be seen. Vaughn used this
as a guide to have new stickers made up for his Combat 6 and
kindly had a set made for our Combat 6 as well. Photos of Rodney
