FLEXO Magazine : November 2009
8 54 When it comes to controlling the flexo print process, inks and the ink train are arguably the most common place to find unwanted and unintended variation. But with some deliberation and sometimes minimal investment, all of these factors can be managed to ensure consistency. This month's issue is dedicated to helping route out issues associated with inks, anilox and doctor blades. It all starts with a discussion on standardizing ink pigments (page 22), followed by a piece on how to calculate ink mileage (page 28), as well as information on pigment limitations (page 34) and process control for metallic inks (page 38). Of course, no event targeted consistency and repeatability like FFTA's Fall Conference---be sure to read the full recap (page 8).
