Unsealed roads through Coorabakh National Park, suitable for conventional vehicles, subject to weather conditions. Caution required, 4WD recommended. Beginning at Kendall, make your way through the beautiful valley of Lorne and quaint village of Hannam Vale, heading towards Coorabakh National Park, which is well known for its views from the impressive rock outcrops. Be sure to visit Waitui Falls on the way, a favourite destination with locals for swimming and an ideal spot for a picnic. Flat Rock Lookout, perched on top of a 500 metre drop has stunning views of landscapes that were once part of a major volcano that dominated the Comboyne Plateau to the west. Big Nellie towers 560 metres above sea level and can be reached on foot from the Big Nellie Picnic Area. Starrs Creek Picnic Area is a rainforest sanctuary with majestic palms and crystal clear streams. As you descend back to the coast, Newbys Lookout has views back across the Landsdowne Valley right through to the coast around Diamond Head. Unsealed road from Comboyne to Elands. Begin your tour in the bustling rural town of Wauchope. Take time to explore the town before making your way out to Comboyne Plateau, passing by the stunning rocky outcrop of Bago Bluff and the rolling green plains and patchwork hills of the countryside leading to the quaint village of Comboyne. Continue onto Boorganna Nature Reserve. From the main picnic area you can stroll down the 2.7km walking track, which descends into the magnificent rainforest. About half way along this track Rawson Lookout overlooks a 40 metre drop of Mumfords Creek. For an even more impressive waterfall, visit the 200 metre Ellenborough Falls at Elands. Ellenborough Falls is one of the largest single drop waterfalls in Australia.
