Twinlock sleeves have led to a reduction of bounce on press, allowing for faster press speeds while improving print qual- ity. Recently, Clear Lam and OEC Graphics visited Polymount International in Holland to receive the 1,000th sleeve from Jan Willem Boers, owner and Twinlock developer. With more than 100,000 environmentally sustainable sleeves in operation worldwide, Twinlock sleeves eliminate the need for mounting tape and reduce operational costs by increasing pressroom efficiencies. Printers may expect up to a 25 percent or greater increase in press speeds and up to a 40 percent increase in mounting efficiencies. OEC Graphics Inc. is the sole North American distributor of Twinlock, work- ing together with Polymount's new manufacturing facility in Newnan, GA. Asahi Photoproducts Places Platemaking System at Clemson's Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics Clemson students, faculty, and researchers will gain hands-on experience with the latest in digital platemaking technology thanks to a recent installation of equipment by Asahi Photoproducts. Asahi placed its new AWP 230W water- washable plate processor along with its AFP 912 exposure/ drying/light finisher unit at Clemson's Sonoco Institute. The equipment will aid the institute with its exciting and innovative research in the printing and packaging industries.
