Home Living : March 16th 2010
HLF - HOME LIVING: NORTH WEST, Tuesday, March 16, 2010 7 App puts colour a click away In an Australian first, Haymes Paint has launched an exclusive iPhone application that makes matching colour on the move a breeze. The app for iPhones features a Haymes screen icon. Touch it and it launches the Haymes Colour Expressions iColour app. By taking a photo, the program will enable you to record the image and match it with a colour from the Haymes Colour Expressions colour wall. Haymes colour and concept manager Wendy Rennie is excited about the possibilities the iColour program offers. ''The user can select which part of the program they would like to access. Options include an existing colour library, colour schemes and store locater,'' she says. ''One of the most exciting options operates much like the iPhone Shazam music program. The user can take a photo of a colour, the program will immediately match it to the closest colour in the Haymes Colour Expressions colour wall range, and provide the name and complementary colour schemes.'' The iColour program also enables customers to extend their vision and create a complementary palette using the Designer Scheme or Colour Theory options on the menu. This will then provide options that can be saved for a later date or emailed directly to a friend. It's that simple. Haymes Colour Expressions iColour can be downloaded for free by searching Haymes on the iPhone App Store or on iTunes. Details: haymespaint.com.au ............................................ Year of colour » ADVERTISING FEATURE A strong neutral backdrop to a range of bright and dynamic accent colours will make a bold statement this year. And as Haymes Paint predicts, neutrals are here to stay. Haymes Paint colour and concept manager Wendy Rennie's signature colour forecast introduces a palette which is warm, comforting and adapts well to the Australian lifestyle. The forecast for 2009-10 consists of 35 colours in six collections: neutrals, yellows, blues, pinks, greens and pastels. Mrs Rennie says the emphasis for this forecast is on the introduction of a neutrals palette with a difference. ''When we think neutrals, we imagine varying shades of whites, creams and very light beiges,'' she says. ''However this year we will be seeing a range of neutrals that is stronger and creates a bolder impression,'' she said. ''We all know that neutrals are here to stay, but we believe the emphasis has shifted away from very light neutrals to darker shades which create environments that offer warmth, comfort and an air of sophistication.'' ''By using bolder neutrals as the foundation colour, feature walls are really a thing of the past, with varying shades of neutrals contributing to a more unified look and feel." The forecast also incorporates several shades from a range of 12 new Haymes colours called Next Generation. Details: haymespaint.com.au or free call Haymes Service Express on 1800 033 431.
