excellence awards 48 FLeXO may 2010 www.flexography.org wide web PrOcess, FiLm Best of Show Clear Lam Packaging Inc. Kaytee® Combo Bird Treats Wrapper Everyone talks about HD, eight- and 10-color extended gamut process printing, with high line screens, but it’s easier said than done. This printer demonstrated consistent control over its print process while achieving a broad spectrum of color. — Dan Dietrich (Polywest USA), level of execution The item that won was challenging in that it was 200lpi and seven-color process and it was done very well. All the submissions in general were of exceptional print and quality, and the differences between them were very small. —Bart Wright (Colormasters LLC), degree of difficulty At 200lpi, this printed very well. It was printed expanded gamut too. Good register, nice dots. There were many different kind of images from end to end. It was also a good match to the proof. —Sunil Datt (Packaging Technologies Inc.), degree of difficulty The most important thing was that it was run at 200lpi, and the many different expanded color gamut im- ages across the web. It has one of the best executions that I have ever seen. The dots were outstanding. —Jose Soler (Comexi), level of execution 2010 2010 excellence in Flexography excellence in Flexography FLX_May10_sec2.indd 48 4/17/10 10:20 PM
