excellence awards The preprint was a much closer contest. All of the award winners were certainly deserving, with the Best of Show standing out because of the varied process images and the dark background. —Bob Dauses (Mark Trece), level of execution The technical challenges to reproduce four or five images around the cylinder and four or five images across the cylinder are immense. The printer did an excellent job on register, color variation and all the other challenges that come with this kind of layout. —Carmen Lovett (RockTenn), degree of difficulty The preprint category was a very close decision with several nice jobs. The crispness of the different glasses of beer and the difficulty of keeping the black background clean of defects stood out. The registra- tion across the web was very nice. We took into consideration the many process images across the web. — Tim Essselman (Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. - Castle Rock), degree of difficulty www.flexography.org may 2010 FLeXO 113 preprinted LinerbOard excellence in Flexography excellence in Flexography GOLD AWARD GOLD AWARD GOLD AWARD FLX_May10_sec4.indd 113 4/17/10 10:34 PM
