excellence awards www.flexography.org may 2010 FLeXO 131 graphic design excellence in Flexography excellence in Flexography GOLD AWARD GOLD AWARD GOLD AWARD What set it apart from other entries? The use of color, font selection, illustrations, and the overall design . . . everything about it was executed very well. What were some notable challenges in printing it? I’m sure the color had to be monitored very closely throughout the print run, especially in the process areas. The soft and subtle tones were surely a challenge. What made you draw out this one from the print submissions? It’s just a beautiful label, an example of good, classic design. It’s truly a work of art. What caught your eye? The dark rich tones combined with the sparkle of the gold foil. —Tom Newmaster (William Fox Munroe) FLX_May10_sec5.indd 131 4/17/10 10:37 PM
