At FFTA Forum 2010 in Las Vegas, NV, the Association announced the new slate of officers for the Board of Directors (FTA) and Board of Trustees (FFTA). Michael Impastato (Flint Group) was introduced as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He succeeds Gary Hilliard (Hood Packaging Corp.), who will remain on the Board as Immediate Past Chair. James Nelson (Great Lakes Packaging Corp.) was tapped as FFTA Board Chair-Elect, and will succeed Im- pastato in two years. Greg Collins (C-P Flexible Packaging) will continue as chairman of FTA’s Board of Directors, as will FTA Board Chair-Elect Greg Platt (GMF Flexo Prepress). Stepping down from both Boards this year was David Straten (Advance Packaging), Matt Moffett (The Mey- ers Printing Companies) and Michael Ferrari (Procter & Gamble). Newly elected to the Boards are Lon Robinson III (Tension Envelope Corp.) and Allen Marquardt (Kimberly-Clark Corp.). One vacant seat remains. Continuing their terms on the Boards are Roxanne Baker (Cryovac/Sealed Air), Larry Claton (Paper Converting Machine Co.), Jean Jackson (Praxair Surface Technologies), Eric Jones (The Label Co.), Gene Martin (The Robi- nette Co.) , David Neiman (All Printing Resources), and Michael Reinhardt (Windmoeller & Hoelscher). Baker will take on the role of Vice Char, CPC/Education. Claton will continue his role as Treasurer. Jackson will continue as Vice Chair, Suppliers. Jones has accepted the position of Vice Chair, Printers/Converters. Martin will carry on his responsibilities as Vice Chair, Scholarships. Neiman has taken on the role of Vice Chair, Project Evalu- ations. Reinhardt will continue on as Vice Chair, Solicitations. FTA/FFTA 2010-2011 Board Officers Seated Inaugural Phoenix Challenge Golf Tournament Announced ASSOCIATIOn nEwS The Phoenix Challenge Foundation is pleased to announce the 2010 Phoe- nix Challenge Foundation Golf Tourna- ment. The event will take place on July 28 at the Arnold Palmer-designed Birkdale Golf Club in Huntersville, North Carolina. The tournament will follow a Cap- tain’s Choice 18-hole scramble format. It is an enjoyable and fun way to share time with flexo printers, educators, industry suppliers and luminaries while supporting a very important initiative. The event begins with 8:00 a.m. shotgun start and includes lunch, two drinks and a variety of prize holes: putt for cash, longest drive, hole-in-one, closest to the pin and plenty of door and attendance prizes. The cost per player is $100. The 2010 tournament is open to any- one interested in supporting education through college and vocational schol- arships, flexo competitions and teacher support programs. Sponsorships are available for suppliers and companies interested in marketing their name to key flexo industry professionals. All proceeds go directly to PCF to further the efforts of the foundation. Registration and sponsorship pack- ages are limited.
