With the cost of living going up, a dollar doesn't go that far these days. But with some clever thinking and good old-fashioned planning and budgeting, we can all make our dollar stretch a bit more. Simple things like having a family budget and getting into the habit of saving will go a long way. Also, look for ways you can make your living more sustainable. It will not only help you save, but make a difference to the environment. Use energy-saving products, take advantage of rebates, rethink, reuse and recycle. There is always a better way of doing things. In this issue we also give you some tips on making homes safer for the elderly and how to avoid common accidents. There are also some pointers on clever living, like how clearing clutter could mean some extra cash as well as creating more space in your home. But, most importantly, we must learn how to live well within our means.
