HLN - HOME LIVING: NORTH, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 1 HOMELIVING ............................................ e INSIDE WHITE IS RIGHT Neutrals still rule HIDE AND SEEK Kitchens disappear in space CAREERS IN BUILDING Laying a new path BENCHTOPS Your guide to surfaces Plan before you spend Janita Singh Plan before you spend Careful planning before you start any home project will minimise disasters. Take out your pen and paper and make notes of everything you want achieved and plan your budget. Decide on the look. Keep a file of what you like, with photographs and clippings from magazines to see what you want. Plan lighting before you start. Replastering is generally part of renovating, so install wiring at the same time. Don't forget dimmers and side lamps for mood lighting. Compile a wish list. List what you want and what you don't want in your new space. You might be surprised to find you can rearrange the existing space rather than adding an expensive extension. For a major renovation, sketch the space to scale. Measure your furniture, decide what you want to accommodate and do a floor plan to scale. And if in doubt, get an expert. Hiring an expert designer for a renovation or just a small addition to the house could be the best thing you do. Even if you think you know what you want, the expert will make your home project as comfortable as possible. >HU[LK VM UVYTHS WYPJLZ 2P[JOLULYZ 2P[JOLUZ has an impressive range of brand new NLWFKHQ ÀQLVKHV DQG GHVLJQV :H QHHG clients with homes in your area to "show WKHP RIIμ :H OO QHHG WR WDNH SKRWRV RI your new kitchen for our brochure when LW V LQVWDOOHG ,W V FKHDSHU WKDQ EXLOGLQJ D VHW DQG LW ORRNV EHWWHU LQ D UHDO KRPH :H PD\ DOVR QHHG \RXU WHVWLPRQLDO ZKHQ FRPSOHWHG ¸;Y\Z[ 2P[JOLULYZ MVY (\Z[YHSPH»Z ILZ[ J\Z[VT THKL RP[JOLUZ¹ /\L` /<99@ :;90*;3@ 3040;,+ 6--,9 05;,9,:; -9,, -05(5*, (=(03()3, 73<: Kitcheners Kitchens made just for youTM ® -VY RP[JOLUZ ^P[O JHIPUL[Y` ]HS\LK V]LY L_ NSHZZ ZWSHZOIHJRZ Z[VUL ILUJO[VWZ [YHKL ^VYRZ +LWVZP[ YLX\PYLK *HU»[ IL \ZLK PU JVUQ\UJ[PVU ^P[O HU` V[OLY VMMLY (WWYV]LK HWWSPJHU[Z ZLSLJ[LK WYVK\J[Z VUS` -LLZ JOHYNLZ JVUKP[PVUZ HWWS` *HSS UV^ OYZ MVY H MYLL KLZPNU HUK X\V[L VY ]PZP[ ^^^ RP[JOLULYZ JVT H\ 7SLHZL Z\WWS` TVYL PUMV 7SLHZL ZLUK L IVVR )VVR MYLL KLZPNU X\V[L 5HTL 7OVUL ,THPS :\I\YI -YLL 7VZ[! 2P[JOLULYZ 2P[JOLUZ 76 )V_ (SL_HUKYPH 5:> HL70 PERGOLAS DECKS OPENING ROOFS CARPORTS 1300 361 390 Visit our Showroom 361 Pennant Hills Road, Pennant Hills NSW 2120 www.pergolaland.com.au Call Us to arrange a booking with one of our experienced Design Consultants 1 The Trusted Outdoor Additions Specialist
