In accordance with a Board resolution adopted by the FFTA Board of Trustees, the following policy shall be implemented regarding non-commercial discourse and the use of Hospitality Rooms at all FTA/FFTA functions: 1. At formal sessions of FTA/FFTA sponsored meetings, speaker, orally or visually, will exclude commerciality, except to identify the speaker’s employer, or as specifically approved by the FFTA Board of Trustees. a . Speeches, audio, and visual aids, must be submitted to the FFTA staff for review and be approved prior to the announced deadline. Presentation material must have FFTA approval. b. Speakers, scheduled or extemporaneous, acting contrary to the spirit of these guidelines, shall be interrupted by the function chairperson, reminded of the offense, and requested to comply or else will be asked to relinquish the floor. 2. In recognition of the vital role of materials and equipment and the need for membership awareness of these materials, their sources, and their use, FFTA shall espouse a spirit of equal opportunity for membership product awareness. a . Hospitality Rooms – operating hospitality rooms is not an FTA/FFTA activity. Those companies choosing to operate membership or non-membership-allied hospitality rooms for entertainment or business purposes shall not do so during any scheduled FTA/FFTA session in the spirit of encouraging full attendance at all FTA/ FFTA scheduled meetings and activities. b. Discipline for those acting contrary to this rule will be at the discretion of the FFTA Board of Trustees and will be limited to one year’s loss of membership privileges, suspension from FTA/ FFTA activities, and forfeiture of dues for the period of suspension. 3. No recording devices are allowed in the sessions without written consent of the presenter and the session chairs/co-chairs.
