Technologies & Techniques mess. Bad end seals and too much pressure can create the same problem. A polyester containment blade in thicknesses of .015-inches or .020-inches will easily eliminate this issue when used on the back side, as a containment blade. If the press has an auto wash system or if a printer has to use steel blades for wiping and containment, a steel blade in a thickness of .006 -inches can be used as a containment blade. In summary, the correct doctor blade is a necessity when attempting to optimize your press and address potential or existing printing issues. The doctor blade thickness and tip are as important as every other component on the press. By consulting with your doctor blade expert and sharing your concerns, you may learn that a simple recommendation can save money and make life much easier in the pressroom.
