Technologies & Techniques COUNT, VOLUME COMBOS How do we select the correct anilox cell count and volume combination? First, to determine what ink film thickness (cell volume) we will need to answer the following questions: • What are we printing on? Each substrate accepts ink differently. Even substrates within the same family accept ink differently and will change the characteristics of the print job, i.e .: paper films, foils, tyvecs...etc. • What are the graphic requirements? Are we printing line, type and solid colors? Expanded color gamut process printing?A combination? • Next, what should the anilox roll cell count be? Based on conventional wisdom, a good starting point for selection of the proper anilox in relation to plate screen count, is to multiply the plate screen count by four. For a 133 line plate separation:(4) x (133) =532. Therefore we would select Open cell 60 Degree HEX Elongated Multi-Resolution Flexo Wash, LLC 11860 Capital Way Louisville, KY 40299 888.493.5396 888.543.5396 FAX FREE email@example.com Only Houdini could get this ping pong ball to fit into a thimble! The same theory applies with media blasting: it’s impossible to fit even the finest media into the high density line screen cells of today’s anilox. To consistently, deep clean anilox rolls, you need a Flexo Wash cleaning system. Using a plastic blaster or soda blaster won’t get the job done, especially on higher resolution line screens. Our technology has proven to do the job consistently and quickly. All without worry of premature cell wall damage caused by a media blaster’s impact on the roll. Call us for references. And ask about our money-back guarantee. If you’re not satisfied with the performance of the Flexo Wash system, we’ll refund your money. Will any other manufacturer do this?
