80 FLEXO august 2011 www.flexography.org Norprint consistently delivers reliable, functional labels; just-In-time, every time, every day. Norprint management recently launched a major capital investment program, with installation of a high performance, servo-driven eight- color flexographic press at its heart, that is well underway . speedy delivery and tight quality controls on all size orders. For the record, it states, “Norprint consistently delivers reli- able, functional labels; just-in-time, every time, every day.” FAST, SHORT, LOW-WASTE RUNS No stranger to ranking first among converters in embrac- ing new technologies, Norprint recently installed a new Mark Andy Performance Series press—the first such machine posi- tioned in the U.K . The move was made after Shooter evalu- ated several options, including three European brands. Specified with eight UV-flexo units, delam/relam, and hot foil facility, Shooter describes the P5 as, “The perfect short- run press. ” He maintains that since installation, it delivers an average 23 percent saving in makeready time, and an overall 26 percent reduction in substrate waste, compared with past results. He notes, “The P5 is not a multiple wow factor press— it just delivers a printer’s wish list in one hit through a combination of proven ability and keen pricing. “ It sets itself in minutes and is clearly designed as an operator ’s press—it has everything you need where you need it, and the press crews love it,” he added, saying that in benchmarking tests against existing equipment, the new P5 was way ahead of expectations in terms of jobs handled and substrates used. “ Print quality is outstanding, and in the first four weeks of production we ran 58 jobs on it.” Described by Norprint as, “The perfect bridge between conventional flexo and digital technology,” the automatic reg- ister system means jobs can be run off quickly and efficiently DCM USIMECA NORTH AMERICA 725 Fremont St. - Kiel, WI 53042 - USA Phone : +1-920-894 5050 - firstname.lastname@example.org - www.dcmusimeca.com Phone : +1-920-894 5050 - email@example.com - web www.dcm.fr Compact cantilevered slitter rewinder Forming and seaming machine for shrink sleeves Coater laminator
