HLS - HOME LIVING: SOUTH, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 1 HOMELIVING Enjoy time outdoors. INSIDE IDEAL IDEAS Season's hot buys GET GARDENING Time to make the garden grow COLOUR YOUR WORLD Making the most of paint TOPPING IT OFF Choosing the right roof Take a seat outdoors JANITA SINGH It's time to relax in the warmth of spring. Spring has sprung and the garden is calling out for your attention. Once upon a time, gardening was a serious business and often involved large quantities of compost and manure. It's still a serious business for many of us, but while manure and compost are generally much appreciated by the plant inhabitants, your garden is also likely to be shared by your family, friends and perhaps even a pet or two. We've all heard about bringing the outdoors in and the indoors out and there are any number of ways to do that, whether it's building an outdoor entertainment area, putting in some pretty plants, or dragging a comfy chair outside and sitting under a tree. One of the simplest ways to create an inviting outdoor living area is to plant some large pots with hardy succulents or foliage plants. A few large pots rather than lots of small ones usually looks best. Make sure the potting mix is good quality and you choose plants that will tolerate living in a confined space. Then start thinking outdoor furniture. Make sure it's comfortable and suits the style of your home and garden. Add a few cushions and a throw rug -- after all it's only spring -- and head on outdoors with some friends to make the most of the sunshine. !∀∀ #∃∃ %#!! ∃&∋ ! ∀∀#∃∃% !∀ # ∃ %& ∋ ( ∃) ∃ !∀ # ∃ %& ∋ ( ∃) ∃ !∀ # ∃ %& ∋ ( ∃) ∃ !∀ # ∃ %& ∋ ( ∃) ∃ SYDNEY BLINDS & SCREENS 9636 1555 Showroom: 26 Stoddart Road, Prospect.
