Industry Indicators 866-APEX-USA email@example.com www.byebyeanilox.com UniFlexGTT for Wide Web | UniFliGTT for Narrow Web | UniCorrGTT for Corrugated | UniCoatGTT for Coatings/Offset Don’t worry. We’ll still sell you an anilox roll — if you’re really into oldies. Hello, GTT When the world’s largest anilox manufacturer rewrites the flexo rulebook with an invention that renders obsolete conventional hexcell anilox technology, you know it’s got to be a pretty big deal. Meet UniFlexGTT for wide web and UniFliGTT for narrow web — the future of flexo ink metering technology. Imagine replacing your entire stockpile of hexcell anilox rolls/ sleeves with just two or three GTT surfaces. Go ahead and streamline your pressroom: use the same surface for fine screens and stronger solids — on fewer ink stations at higher speeds. Re-imagine your flexo future producing high-definition output. Gain unparalleled print quality and consistency. Do more with less – and free your bottom line to soar. Is this an evolution in flexo? More like a revolution. Bold words? Indeed. Here’s why: we reinvented the very concept of ink-to-plate transfer and, from the ground up, perfected a whole new open Slalom Ink Channel surface geometry, a new hybrid ceramic composition and a new laser engraving process. And when coupled with new high-definition flat-top-dot plate technology, GTT surfaces deliver unrivaled clarity and predictability – faster and with less clean-up. So save time. Save ink. And save money. Let us prove it: download your own GTT brochure today. ® Bye bye, anilox. Adios, unwieldy anilox inventories. Sayonara, BCM/LPI math. Bon voyage, sleeve and roll changes. So long, pinholes, dot gain, mottling and haloing. See ya later, downtime. In total, 28,636 visi- tors from 118 countries attended this year’s show–an increase of 18.6 percent from 2009. Furthermore: • Labelexpo Europe attracted 550 exhibitors, up from 544 in 2009. It occupied six exhibition halls at Brussels Expo and stood out as the largest edition in the show ’s now 30-year history. • By the end of the show, 81.3 percent of exhibiting space was rebooked for Labelexpo Europe 2013 . • Exhibitors reported buoyant trade with a high level of machinery and material sales being made and several hundred new products being launched. Complementing on-stand demos, the show debuted two major feature areas—the Digital Print Workshops and the Package Printing Zone. • Digital Print Workshops gave visitors the unique chance to see three printing technologies—dry toner, electro-ink and inkjet—compared against each other during live ma- chine demonstrations run by an independent moderator. • The equally popular Package Printing Zone ran seminar sessions and working machinery demonstrations that were designed to introduce label printers to opportunities in short- to medium-run package printing. Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director said: “This year’s show has clearly demonstrated that our industry is continuing to innovate and that the people within it have a ‘ can-do’ attitude. Likewise, printers/converters and manufac- turers are still investing in their equipment and services.” On-site surveys of exhibitors concurred with Pellow ’s assessment. For example, Jef Stoffels, EskoArtwork , said, “Es- koArtwork’s solutions in digital flexo, prepress and workflow attracted a lot of visitor interaction generating a great number of good conversations. What made the show again a stand- out event for us was the high level of visitor engagement that created a rewarding number of sales leads.” Paul Brauss, Mark Andy Inc., explained, “Labelexpo Europe 2011 was the perfect storm for Mark Andy and Rotoflex. Our line-up of Mark Andy Performance Series presses continues to grow in sales and popularity throughout the world. We closed our 112th Performance Series sale during the show! Our Rotoflex line of inspection/rewind equipment also enjoyed a large audience for its Genesis upgrades and web handling system. We are excited with our results” Similar words came from Eric Hoendervangers, MPS.. He noted, “Visitors were focused and knew what to look for. Excel- lent sales figures, as well as an overwhelming leads-database, were the results for MPS. A great show for a great industry!” To that, Jakob Landberg, Nilpeter added, “Labelexpo Europe 2011 was more successful than we dared to hope for. In the current financial climate, our industry looks forward more optimistically than the rest of the world. During the short, hectic show we managed to sell 22 machines from our entire product portfolio—with a nice wide geographic spread. We had a great opportunity to communicate all of our novelties and all were well accepted.” Similar thoughts were expressed by Mariette Ferreira, Sun Chemical Ltd. She said, “Labelexpo Europe provided us with the perfect audience to demonstrate our capabilities in the grow- ing mid and narrow web packing applications, as well as core labels. The number and particularly the quality of the leads we captured made this show a valuable investment for us. ” Brent Fischmann, RotoMetrics observed, “This year’s La- belexpo Europe was especially significant to RotoMetrics and Gerhardt as it was the first opportunity to present the combined range of new technology and product innovations to the indus- try ’s largest global audience. The show marked a successful de- but of the company ’s new line of AccuStarTM flexible and we also saw tremendous interest in the new AccuStrikeTM anvil including live demonstrations with AB Graphics, Mark Andy and Nilpeter.” Finally, Kevin Frydryk, ExxonMobil Chemical said: “It pro- vided the perfect platform to present our range of OPP label application technologies including Label-LyteTM and DigilyteTM OPP films. It also enabled us to discuss our ongoing program of technology development which is focused on delivering new products that address key customer requirements on product performance, decoration, and labeling efficiency.” n SHATTERED RECORDS • 28,636 visitors from 118 countries.
