FLEXO Magazine : November 2011
Saturday, March 17 1:00pm - 5:00pm FQC (Flexo Quality Consortium) Day FQC Day will consist of two concurrent sessions designed to provide the membership with a better understanding of the factors controlling the quality of the flexographic printing process. Fundamentals of Flexo Session Coordinator: Duane Woolbright, Flexographic Technical Association This pre-conference session serves as a foundational or “prerequisite” seminar to the topics discussed throughout the Forum. The main objective of this FREE seminar is to bring novices up to speed on the language of flexo, the markets, the segments, the major elements and the basic practices, with a focus on the flexo press. It will introduce attendees to the basic flexo principles, practices and procedures to help them better participate during the Forum and in FQC activities (and well beyond). Presentations will include a brief primer on flexography, press technology, graphics principles, and process components, including substrates, inks, and plates. The session will be augmented with a virtual press tour illustrating the principles involved. FQC Working Session Session Chairs: FQC Committee This session will give a participative insight into the FQC’s approach. It will begin with a review of the project process used by the FQC for the orientation of future project leaders. This is based on a continuous improvement approach that will be helpful to members in their daily work, including a project case history. The process will be reviewed from initiating projects through experiment design, project execution and analysis. It will also include an open participation session of the FQC including selected project teams, standards reviews and review and generation of new projects. Projects include anilox measurement, expanded gamut, and ISO ink standards. Visit us at www.flexography.org for up-to-the-minute info on Forum & INFO*FLEX 2012.
