FTA TODAY Bringing It All Home! Forum & INFO*FLEX: A Grand Scale Event Brand equity, real-world print comparisons, high-speed printing, expanding color gamut, emerging technologies, operational excellence new technologies, FIRST production— seven hard-hitting, fact-filled sessions—will constitute FTA’s 2012 Annual Forum. The event, set for March 18-21 at the Grand Hyatt and Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, in San Antonio, TX, is chaired by Randy Butler, Printpack, Inc., and Bob Mullen, Sun Chem- ical Corp. Here, in question and answer format, they explain the selection of the Forum theme, the melding of the different ingredients on the program, the impact on the industry, and their personal hopes and aspirations for this grand scale event. They say Forum 2012 is designed to address the industry ’s burning questions and offer everyone in attendance a blue- print on becoming a better, more responsive and effectively positioned organization. FLEXO: Forum 2012’s theme is “Flexo Brand of Choice.” Can you comment on how the theme was developed, de- cided on and what it means to you on a personal level? BUTLER: The 2012 theme, “Brand of Choice,” was selected because we wanted to emphasize the importance of brand equity. The Forum Committee recognized that when you market and develop your product, your brand equity is what carries you through the good and bad times. Our brand—FTA— is growing, here in the United States and globally. Forum 2012 planners simply want members of the industry to recognize the choices they have in buying their packaging. Our message: “Flexo is here and it’s the real deal.” FLEXO: We understand that direct print comparisons be- tween flexo, offset, gravure and digital (FOG’D) printing are Bob Mullen Randy Butler FORUM 2012 SNAPSHOT • Brand equity to be emphasized • Experienced, dynamic speakers + cohesive, exciting program • High-speed print essential in competitive market- place • Snapshot of market shows flexo quality has grown exponentially • Consistent, measurable results achieved • Meet new people.
