MB HLN - HOME LIVING: NORTH, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 3 PAINT OFFER FRESH LOOK FOR CLUBS Surf clubs require hardy, lasting paint. A NEW partnership has been formed to help protect and pre- serve some of Australia's most important and iconic buildings from harsh weather conditions. Dulux Australia will donate up to $1 million worth of its tough Weathershield exterior paint to protect every surf life saving club for the next gener- ation of beach goers. ''Surf clubs are an iconic part of the Australian coastline and we hope this donation will help brighten and protect Australian beaches,'' said Dulux's colour expert, Andrea Lucena-Orr. ''Dulux is offering its services to assist each club with colour selections and has developed a set of colour schemes to suit our rugged coastal areas.'' The sponsorship offers clubs up to 100 litres of Dulux Weath- ershield exterior paint per year over the next three years. PUBLIC CONSULTATION YOUR SAY ON REFORM FOCUS ON STRATA, COMMUNITY TITLE More than two million people in NSW live in strata and community schemes and reforms are being flagged. Janita Singh MORE than two million people now live in more than 70,000 strata and 1500 community schemes in NSW. Within 20 years, half the state's popu- lation is expected to be living in strata and community schemes. With this in mind, NSW Fair Trading has launched an online consultation project to gather public viewpoints on strata management. Minister Anthony Roberts launched the three-month proj- ect last month to be hosted by the public policy think tank Global Access Partners. Mr Roberts said the project would provide valuable infor- mation in the lead-up to the government's planned review of strata and community title laws later this year. ''2011 marked the 50th anni- versary of the world's first strata title law, which com- menced right here in NSW on July 1, 1961,'' he said. ''In 1989 NSW was again a world leader when it introduced laws enabling the development of community schemes, which allow for multiple dwellings on one piece of land.'' The online consultation runs to February 29. Comments can be directly made at www.openforum.com.au or by following the link from www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au.
