Holidays Away : Summer Edition 2007
2 HOLIDAYS AWAY --- SUMMER 2007 www.holidaysaway.net This family friendly celebration of Christmas will promote the Christmas spirit of goodwill and charity, raising funds for the cancer research program at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. For the past 15 years, the world- renowned Jenolan Caves has celebrated Christmas with the Carols in the Caves Concert held in 'Mother Nature's Auditorium', Jenolan's magnificent Grand Arch. Stunning lighting from Bytecraft Entertainment, who lit the Sydney 2000 Olympics, will set the scene for the performers who scale great heights to sing among the stalagmites and stalactites. The support of Loud and Clear Audio will mean their voices will be heard from all around. There will be matinee and evening performances. The Christmas Bazaar will feature stalls from local merchants whilst a busking competition will see classical, folk and rock musicians from around the Blue Mountains playing in the caves. During the Festival, hampers filled with local produce will be raffled whilst you will be able to help decorate a Christmas Wollomi pine tree and in doing so, send a Christmas wish to the sick kids. Janice McGilchrist, from media partner ABC Central West, is Patron of The Jenolan Caves Christmas Festival. The Festival has been generously supported by St George bank, the major financial sponsor. Dr Dan Catchpoole heads up a research group within The Oncology Research Unit at the Children's Hospital at Westmead looking at improved diagnosis for children with cancer.
