Atlas Titan Readies New Technologies CHARLOTTE, NC: Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd. recently reported that it now has a global installed base of approximately 3,500 primary and secondary slitter rewind- ers in more than 80 countries. This includes more than 2,500 Titan and 1,000+ Atlas machines. The company has a very strong order backlog for 2012 and already has orders placed and confirmed for delivery in 2013 and even in to 2014,” Alan Johnson, managing director, explained. “ T his has led to our decision to increase our manufacturing capability in Bedford, UK, around the launch of the new Atlas & Titan products and our strong order book. ” Looking to the future, Johnson indicated that Atlas Convert- ing Equipment Ltd. will launch a new technology platform for the Atlas range of primary and secondary film slitters in web widths from 2.5 to 10 meters. He also said, “This year will see the drupa exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany in May and we will have a strong presence with live slitter rewinder demon- strations daily during the event. “Looking back over the last 12 - 14 months, since we be- came an independently owned company again, the Board of Directors is very pleased with what has been achieved and with the response we have received from our employees, sup- pliers and from both our long-established and new customer base to our product strategy and organization since the Octo- ber 2010 management buy-out from Bobst Group. ” “Our business is structured to ensure that we strengthen our position as the market leader in slitter rewinder technol- ogy, offering a range of products and services geared toward our customers’ requirements and offering differentiation within the marketplace,” he confirmed. “T he company has been in operation since 1976 and many of our customers have been working with us for a very long time. It is our intention to continue to support these customers for the long term future,” Johnson concluded.
