Results of the 2012 FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards have been compiled. One thing is certain: creativity and technology are uniting to cre- ate some spectacular work. The competition, held Jan. 8-10, in Islandia, NY, aimed to rate the execution and degree of difficulty of nearly 500 submissions from every flexographic segment. Thirty-six volunteer judges dissected entries from all over the world, laboring and debating until late in the evening to determine which pieces exhibited the most innovative work from the flexo world. The analysis resulted in 130 awards; in- cluding 36 gold medals, 37 silver medals, 46 bronze medalists and three self-promotion awardees. When the dust settled, the following entries—all gold medalists already—rose to the top, earning the title “Best of Show,” in their respective classes: • Ampac Paper Inc. for P.S .
