FLEXO Magazine : April 2012
Chemistry, Innovation & Sustainable Printing Driven by the goal of sustain- ability, Comexi Group and BASF will show drupa delegates how the combined power of chemistry and innovation can enable their customers to make the important switch to sustainable printing. The COMEXI FLEXO F2 press will demonstrate the true meaning of innovative quality and show what sustainable efficiency in the flexible packaging world is all about. Both companies share the com- mon aim of driving the conversion from conventional to solvent‐free printing. As front-runners in this conversion they are becoming the preferred suppliers for chemistry and engineering solutions for the printing industry. Sustainable packaging is at a turning point. Visit Hall 10, Stand C-62 where both companies intend to share their achievements and invite you to join them on the path- way to sustainability. Comexi Group will show the COMEXI FLEXO F2 press, which has been optimized for the new water-based inks to demonstrate that real quality printing and in- novation, epitomizes the meaning of efficiency in sustainable flexible packaging printing around the globe. This new press comes with COMEXI Cingular modules for managing pressure adjustments and registrations while significant- ly reducing waste. Furthermore, important advantages such as accessibility, simple maintenance and energy savings are also keys to sustainable printing. The results of the cooperation on this project will be shown in real life. drupa gives COMEXI and BASF the opportunity to demonstrate their combined power for sustainable solutions. The FLEXO F2 press from COMEXI will be printing water- based inks that comprise BASF technologies for 15 days. Spectral Measurements & Inspection Systems Linked Advanced Vision Technology, (AVT) Ltd, will be launching an exciting range of new products at drupa 2012, using the latest web inspection technology to focus on improving print quality. Spearheading the new technology is AVT’s on-press, in-line spectral measurement – SpectraLab, which automatically measures colors by sampling user-defined points on the print image and provides ISO compliant on-line L*a*b* color values that match those made off-line. Dem- onstrations in Hall 11, Stand D-40 are planned for: • PrintVision/Argus Elite. The new solution includes upgraded view- ing capabilities, a brand new man-machine-interface, and pressure setting from the image. It will be showcased in the AVT booth and on the new F2 Comexi press on the Comexi stand. • PrintVision/Jupiter system will demonstrate RightSeal, the improved dual optic head opera- tion for cold seal monitoring, as well as iReg, a semi-automatic registration setting for CI flexo presses. • PrintVision/Apollo system will demonstrate its all new and easy to use operation, IDEal - Delta Color Measurements, PDF job verification, regions of interest and connection to the customer ERP system. • PrintVision/Helios II. Serving as a powerful process control tool on-press or a 100 percent quality assurance guard on finishing machines, SpectraLab is a new add-on module to the Helios II family. www.flexography.org april 2012 FLEXO 51 What if there Were no more innovators? Since 1971 we have challenged our industry standard. We are Harper. The people that introduced the Ceramic Anilox Roll, the 60o Hex, and the SHARPER System TM . We think things like fidelity, reproduction quality and consistency, matter. We may not be trendy, but we’ll be here tomorrow just like our Anilox Rolls and other products.
