If you have a question you would like to be put to TEST send it to: firstname.lastname@example.org Our question goes to our friends at Fox Valley Technical College Flexographers often utilize more than one ink manufacturer within their inventory. What are the ramifications of cross-linking ink manufacturers' specifications with competing or different ink systems? Today's ink systems are so specialized based on performance and end use require- ments, the ink itself and the chemistries it's made up of are totally different from manufacturer to manufacturer. It is extremely important that blending and press side maintenance adhere to the guidelines provided by the ink manufacturer. Most ink manufacturers will not support you if you're adding foreign chemistries to their systems. In addition once a press is characterized changing inks introduces a huge variable into your workflow, so recharacterization is always required. About our TEST Partner: .
