Expanded Gamut Printing—The best possible register is an absolute requirement for optimum results when printing with more than four color pro- cess. Round print forms are ideal in this application. Continuous Print or Difficult Mount- ing—Continuous print sleeves are an obvious requirement for seamless print- ing, but they have also proven valuable by eliminating the time and mounting errors associated with the mounting of flat plates on difficult jobs. Should your company consider con- tinuous print sleeves? If a printer has a number of jobs that fit one or more of the above criteria, then it can be safely said that it is a good potential candi- date for round print forms. Once the fit is established, a test plan should be developed and potential round quanti- ties should be estimated. • Smaller printers or those with a low percentage of jobs that fit with round should identify a trade shop supplier to work with • Larger printers or those with a high percentage of round work may wish to consider bringing sleeve making in- house, and could choose to work with a trade shop or directly with the manufacturer to qualify the round print forms in production • In either case, the primary objective is to prove that the value will be delivered and that there is a positive return on investment for round image carriers A skid of finished sleeves preparing for shipment to a customer. Finished sleeves are carefully inspected for caliper uniformity and LAMs quality.
