THE 19905 FFTA recognizes Flexo Quality Consortium (FQC) as a standing committee, transmits word to membership. Initial project is a Verification Program. Also, John Kelley leads a team to address the corrugated segment, Peter Kershner leads a team on narrow web UV, and Ian Pike heads a group working on color and control. FQC prints the results of its statistically designed experi- ment to quantify and optimize ultraviolet flexography in FLEXO's Nov. issue. 1994 1994-FTA stages Flexo Seminars for the Far East, April 7,8 and 9 in Shenzhen China; April 11 and 12 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and April 14-15 in Jakarta Indonesia. 1995 1995-FFTA announces plans to work with Asheville High School, Asheville, NC, and instructor Mike Davis in establish- ing the second Flexo in High School Program. Launch is set for the 1995-1996 school year. Asheville follows the lead of North Carolina's South Mecklenburg High School. Narrow-Web Strategic Leadership Council is formed. The charge: publish a bi-monthly newsletter, present pertinent information, specifically address issues and concerns facing the tag and label segment. Initial members: Bruce Riddell, Dennis Andel, John Egbert, Bill Donovan, and Jay Luft. FFTA's very first FQC Road Show is set for Thursday, Jan. 14 at Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC. Presentations are designed for supervisors, engineers, trade shop personnel and anyone else technically oriented who desires a greater understanding of flexo's variables. FLEXO published the inaugural SourceBook, the first-ever flexo-exclusive international directory of product manufac- turers and service providers. FQC Corrugated Team Test Results are printed in FLEXO. September's Installment = Running the Trial to Running the Numbers by Roger Poteet. FLEXO Produces 3rd flexographically printed cover. It fol- lows December 1992 and December 1993. Project partners include DuPont, International Paper, Praxair, Rotometrics,. Russell Field, Trinity Graphics, Webtron and Werneke Ink.
