FLEXO Magazine : Golden Anniversary Commemorative Journal
THE FLEXO MAKEREADY BLUES I woke up this morning. Got up outta bed. Gotta get movin'. Got a big day ahead. The print buyer's comin' To approve the job. The day will be rough Like the face of a cob. I got the press runnin'. Blade started to wear. Chamber was leakin'. There was ink everywhere. So I cranked down the pressure. Blade started to bend. My anilox scored And that was the end. I got the blues. I got the blues I got the flexo makeready blues Well I shut down the press. Took the anilox out. I needed my backup So I looked all about. I finally found it Hidden back on a shelf. "Oh, thank heavens" I said to myself I mounted the bearings, The gears and the keys, Set up the print station And what did I see? The roll got damaged On the previous run That third shift pressman Is a son-of-a-gun. (Chorus) My eyes are burnin'. In my neck there's a kink From watchin' the labels 'cause my strobe's on the blin I called up maintenance. Said"be fixed in an hour". Half a day later My stomach was sour. From the blues. Those damned old blues I got the flexo makeready blue But the press was ready To rock and roll So I hit the button And started to go. I tried at 200, But that wouldn't fly. I had to run faster Or it'ld be my hide. So I pushed to 300 To 4 and to 5, But the plates were all muddy and the ink wouldn't dry. (Chorus) The bossman told me "Enough is enough! Gotta get serious About all this stuff. We need some answers Some help right away. Better get on that phone to the FTA. To cure the blues. To cure the blues. To cure the flexo makeready blues. -David Lanska THE 20005 2006 April 30-May 3 Kentucky International Convention Center Chairman: Matt Moffett Theme: The Inside Track to Success 2007 May 6-9 Palais Des Congres De Montreal Chairman: David Nunez Theme: Crossing Borders: Flexo's Global Gateway 2008 April27-30 Hilton Anatole, Dallas Chairman: Scott Gilbert I Vice Chair: Mark Mazur Theme: FfA's Golden Anniversary: SO Years of Making Flexo Stronger Congratulations FTA on your 50th Anniversary!
