FLEXO Magazine : Golden Anniversary Commemorative Journal
UBeing an FTA member allows me to voice an opinion that may not oth- erwise be heard. Everyone is given the opportunity to be on a committee of some sort that would benefit you. It allows me the opportunity to network with others within the industry that I can glean some knowledge from, as well as share information with. The seminars, newsletters and personnel are a great resource. You can keep up with the latest trends and technologies." -Sherri Dutter, Sarqento Foods ttFTA has been a valuable resource to my employees, I personally use my FTA FIRST booklet weekly!" -Deana Marshall, Manufacturinq Manaqer, ColorTree Inc. UFTA gives us the tools we require to learn, manage and develop a successful printing process". -Paul Wilson, Print Manaqer, Encore Washinqton Ltd ttI was previously a member of the FT A through former employ- ers Cascade, QC Packaging (my own company) and Specialized Packaging. I am now in the process of beginning a new flexo folding carton start-up at Ellis Packaging. The FT A is an excellent source of technical information, net- working opportunities and educational programs. We look forward to compet- ing in upcoming awards competitions." -Bill McKniqht, Manaqer, Business Development, Ellis Paper Box Inc. US eems like FTA was thirty something only a few summers ago! Time rushes by when you're having fun! I want to provide my sincerest Congratulations and ap- preciation to the present and the past of FTA. Thanks to executive management and every single staff team member for all these SO years. It has been our/my pleasure to have participated with an organization that molded our industry from a rubber stamp to a litho quality endeavor. Without the training programs, Flexography: Principles and Practices, Seminars Workshops, Roundtables, FLEXO magazine and Forums, my time in this industry would have only filled the glass half full. uFTA turned a job into an adventure of research, learning, contribution and development. As the new technologies overtake the past, I know FTA will be in step to lead the way in bringing us together to meet the challenges of tomorrow both here and abroad. Drink in the accolades myoId friend and embrace the day. Thank you for filling my glass full." -Bruce Riddell, FTA Hall of Fame Member, V Spectrum Label Corp. FTA's Golden Anniversary Today's Testimonials UFFTA's Forum is a critical format to keep printers informed of what's going on in the industry. The Forum and com- mittee's have allowed me to meet others in my field and to work together in a non-competitive environment, allowing me to grow and become better focused in my career and to give back to the in- dustry that has taught me so much." -Joseph T. McCarthy, Senior Research Scientist, International Paper UIf you are a company that wants to go to the next level of printing, or if you just want to get other opinions on what is being done in other facilities, FTA offers all of that and more. With all of the committees, the training sessions, the Forums, the education sup- port, FTA offers more to these companies than many of the other associations." -David Nunez, Graphcis Specialist/Supervisor, International Paper UFTA has afforded me the opportuni- ty to exchange information with others in flexography, so that it has benefited my company and my career." -Tim Gantley, Plant Safety Coordinator, Southern Atlantic Label UFTA has given me the tools to develop exceptional flexographic printing within our plant. Within the last 4 years, we have moved a large percentage of litho jobs to flexo and have achieved the same high quality. FTA has given me a chance to network with the leaders in the industry and these individuals have taken time to visit our plant and participate in print symposiums and seminars. The Forum and INFO*FLEX are the best programs that I have attended. I believe that being a member and participating on a committee is very rewarding." -Dick Ahlborn, National Envelope UFTA provides a wonderful forum in which to discuss and resolve issues on all things flexographic. Technical discussions about ink development, ink usage, printability and press operation are always useful. Environmental, safety and health are always interesting topics as well. The leadership shown by FTA in participating in the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership will reap great re- wards in coming years. Thanks, FTA!" -Don P.
