PRODUCT DATA SHEET V3, X5 & X6 Aqueous Preprint Inks Color Resolutions International (CRI) offers a series of water-based flexographic inks, which have unique chemistries specifi- cally formulated to meet the challenges of producing high quality preprinted liners for corrugated packaging. Printers seeking to achieve the highest quality possible on corrugated substrates require the level of performance that the CRI preprint line offers. The appropriate system is press specific in order to optimize its performance with your press configuration. For this reason our Preprint inks are available in three distinct versions: V Series The V series inks are formulated with a unique vehicle system designed for optimum performance on presses with anilox ranges of 800-1000 lines per inch and typically slower press speeds. The V series is tailored for process and fine line screen-printing, and may be blended with X4, X5 or X6 systems for improved solubility, stability or for use on high holdout / coated liner stock. X5 Series The X5 series is a fast drying system developed for use on stack, or in-line presses such as a Conprinta press. This system is formulated to perform well on presses with anilox rolls ranging from 180 to 1000 lines per inch. X6 Series The X6 series is the fastest drying formulation within the preprint series, and has been developed for us on CI-type presses. This system is formulated to perform well on presses with anilox rolls ranging from 180 to 1200 lines per inch. Preprint X6 inks remain stable and soluble on press while exhibiting the desirable characteristic of fast setting for use with in-line converting. Preprint Characteristics Include: • Excellent resolubility • Ability to dry properly on high holdout substrates • High transparency for superior process printing • Can be tailored for desired COF / slide angle ranges Typical Operating Parameters: V Series X Series Viscosity Din 4 22-26 sec 22-26 sec pH 9.2 -- 9.6 9.2 -- 9.6 Gloss Good High Dry Speed Slow Fast Anilox BCM 2.0--8 2.0--12 Din 4 -- or adjusted to customer specifications.
