Corrugated Synergies International Welcomes Cordes Porcher RENTON, WA—Cordes Porcher has joined Corrugated Synergies International. He brings over 25 years of experience as a leading process and graphics specialist in advanced flexographic printing, in both preprint and postprint disci- plines. His roles at CSI will include the continued successful work in flexographic printing to the corrugat- ed industry and to be intimately involved in the new CSI PrePrint facility being established in Las Vegas, NV. Cordes is known industry-wide for his former position as the facilities director for Clemson University ’s Printing and Convert- ing Research Center. As direc- tor, he developed the successful corrugated program for training both the university students and the corrugated industry staff. There was also an extensive amount of research and develop- ment into new products, materials and procedures during his tenure there, with many of the results in utilization today. As an authority in flexographic printing, he is often seen, along- side his peers, judging print com- petitions and conducting speaking engagements at various FTA, TAPPI and AICC events. Cordes is an international, published author of numerous articles on the flexo- graphic process. He has been honored by Clemson University for services to the Graphic Communi- cations Program. Mitcham Appointed CEO, Yupo Corp. America CHESAPEAKE, VA – Yupo Corporation America announced a change in leadership. Paul Mitcham has been appointed president and chief executive officer. Masakuni Fukutome, who Mitcham succeeds, is returning to headquarters in Japan as general man- ager/Administration Division. Mitcham is now responsible for directing Yupo Corporation’s strategic growth initiatives. According to the company, by the end of this year Yupo Corpo- ration America will expand its Chesapeake facility to higher capacity, add additional employees, and explore new markets in specialty packaging. Mitcham’s ascension to the post marks the first time in Yupo company history that an American has been promoted to such a position.
