Rossini Flexo Scholarship A little over a year ago, FFTA was ap- proached by a very supportive long-time member regarding the possible funding of a new educational scholarship for junior or senior undergraduates demonstrating a strong interest in flexography within their graphic communication studies. At Forum 2008, the Association announced the es- tablishment of the Rossini Scholarship for Flexographic Studies. This $20,000 annual commitment, for the next 10 years-personally funded by Felice and Paola Rossini-will provide three deserv- ing students with scholarship awards in the amount of $10,000 for first place, $6,000 for second place, and $4,000 for third place. In addition to these awards, Mr. and Mrs. Rossini have agreed to pay all travel ex- penses for the three scholarship winners to attend the Annual Forum and be recog- nized by the industry for their accomplish- ments. The FFTA Scholarship Committee will begin formalizing the selection cri- teria and review process in the coming months in order for the first three Rossini Scholarship winners to be selected in time to attend Forum 2009 in Orlando, FL. "Rossini S.p.A. was founded more than 75 years ago by my father, Erminio Rossini, who invented the leather covered rollers used on the first offset presses," said Felice Rossini, president. "I learned everything from my father and this has resulted in a very strong graphics culture throughout the companies consisting of the Rossini Group. www.f I exog ra p hy.o rg FTA TODAY My father spent a lot of time educating in- dividuals on the principles of printing and my wife and I wish to follow in his foot- steps.
