FTA/FFTA Board Elections Flexographic Technical Association (FT A) announced the results of the 2008-2009 elections to its Board of Directors and its Foundation's (FFTA) Board of Trustees, during the General Session of FFTA's 2008 Annual Forum, Sunday, April 27 in Dallas, TX. Four industry professionals, newly elect- ed to both Boards were: Roxanne Baker, Cryovac Sealed Air Eric Jones, The Label Co. J ames Nelson, Great Lakes Packaging Corp. Michael Reinhardt, Windmoeller Hoelscher Corp. Dear Friends at FTA, Gary Hilliard (Hood Packaging) has been voted to the post of Chairman of FFTA Board of Trustees. Both he and Dave Neiman (All Printing Resources), current Chairman of FTA's Board of Directors, were also re-elected for second terms. Hilliard replaces Paul Lancelle (Green Bay Engraving), who remains on both Boards, and is immediate past FFTA chair. Michael Impastato (Flint Group) was nominated FFTA Chairman-Elect. Gregory P. Collins (C-P Flexible Packaging) continues as Chairman-Elect for FTA's Board. Larry 1. Claton (Aquaflex) has assumed the role of treasurer. Impastato has been named FFTA vice chairman, Project Evaluations Committee. Gene Martin (The Robbinette Co.) has taken the role of FFTA vice chair- man, Scholarships. Matt Moffett (The Meyers Printing Companies Inc.) was elected to FFTA vice chairman, At Large, oversee- ing the CPC and Education Leadership Committees, which Hilliard vacated follow- The packaging industry requires steady developments in flexogra- phy to achieve consistency in the process and produce high quality products at competitive prices. Conferences and seminars organized by Flexographic Technical Association create a neutral and natural platform for flexographic printers/converters, prepress providers and supplier companies, as well as educational institutions and consumer product companies. Together with FLEXO Magazine they present a knowledgeable resource for the exchange of experiences within the flexographic community. Moreover, they contribute significantly to the growth of flexographic know-how and skill that is reflected in the pro- cesses' growing share of the marketplace. This is something extraordinary and worth praising. FFTA's Annual Forum and INFO*FLEX Exhibition was one of the inspirations for me to create the Flexographic Forum conference and exhibition in Poland. I hope to see further success for FT A, the flexographic industry as well as the continued technical and economic advancements. Polish Flexographic Technical Association, as an independent and not-for-profit organization in Poland, thanks FTA for its long-standing cooperation. Congratulations to all ofFTA's member companies, which provide the foundation of this institution. Rounding out both Boards is Michael Ferrari (Procter Gamble),JeanJackson (Allison Systems), Greg Platt (GMF Flexo Prepress) and David Straten (Advance Packaging Corp.). Doug Nelson (Water Ink Technologies) remains on the FFTA Board. Jackson remains as FTA vice chair, Suppliers. Straten continues as FTA vice chair, Printers/Converters. Nelson retains the position of FFTA vice chair, Solicitations. Dave Bankson (Label Technology) and Raymond "Bud" Gray (Acucote), completed their second terms and were recognized for six years of service at the Forum. James Brown (Cryovac) completed his first term this year, but has opted not to run for a second. Also stepping down is Mike Schliessman (Great Northern Corp.), who completes one year as immediate past FTA chair. Flexo-Certified! More than 70 flexographic industry professionals and students have earned the Level I - Basic Flexo certification. (See page 10 for one company's case history.)
