FLEXO Magazine : September 2013
inspection system combines traditional print inspection technologies, holographic foils inspection and hologram print applications. AVT will also unveil the next generation of its PrintFlow print quality database. PrintFlow 2.0 features an upgraded user interface, new roll map display and expanded production management capabilities. Allen DAtAgrAph SyStemS Inc. – StAnD 9g20 Allen Datagraph Systems will be exhibiting its iTech Series Digital Label Systems. These enable label converters to digi- tally print and finish smaller quantities of consumer-quality labels, in any shape, without the costs and delays associated with analog production. They are: • The iTech AXXIS HS Digital Label System, a complete roll-to-roll tabletop solution that is cost-effective for run lengths up to 1,000 linear ft. • The iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System, a complete roll-to-roll solution fitting between tabletop and full-scale production systems at a fraction of the cost of other pro- duction digital presses, it is cost-effective for run lengths up to 5,000 linear ft. Apex group of compAnIeS – StAnD 11Q30 Apex will unveil its newest products for the label and narrow web market with its lightweight series of UltraCell anilox rolls, the ReadyRoll advance in-stock roll program and GTTLABEL, successor to conventional anilox rolls. For those printers who don’t require the high quality and precision GTT yields, Apex offers its UltraCell and UltraCell+ conventional anilox rollers with an improved ceramic layer and surface engravings that include hexagonal, positive, tri-helical and elongated, among others. Apex will also reveal its investment in the label and narrow web arena with the ReadyRoll program—the world’s largest label and narrow web inventory with pre-coated bases in popular sizes, in-stock and ready for custom engraving. Avery DennISon lAbel AnD pAckAgIng mAterIAlS europe – StAnD 5A40 Avery Dennison will be showcasing a pressure-sensitive la- beling solution that improves the recyclability of PET contain- ers and can help increase rPET yields, thanks to an innovative adhesive and film combination that separates cleanly and efficiently from PET flakes produced during the recycling process. The company will also spotlight ClearCut, a new platform of adhesives that enables thinner constructions, increased productivity and decreased bleeding. DAetwyler SwISStec Ag (prInt) – StAnD 11S80 Daetwyler will be displaying the MDC ONE-STEP doctor blade, which has been developed for label printing applica- tions and for solving specific print challenges. The blade promises a clean, sharp wipe with constant tone value upkeep and no ink hydroplaning. UV ink spitting is eliminated or substantially lessened. Additionally, the low-wear coat- ing of MDC OPTILIFE PLUS enables a precisely delineated contact zone, a clean print process over an extremely long time period, consistently high printing quality and significantly improved durability, especially with water-based substrates. DurSt phototechnIk – StAnD 9h57 Durst will launch the Tau 330 UV inkjet label press with in- line digital laser finishing system. The system incorporates the latest Spartanics’ laser diecutting technology. The company will also showcase its latest inkjet technology, the new Tau Low Migration (LM) UV Inks from SUNJET. Tau LM ink compo- nents all appear on the EUPIA and Swiss Ordnance positive lists and do not utilize material specifically excluded on the Nestle list, which when combined with the specially designed UV curing system, can achieve migration limits of less than 10 parts per billion. 70 FLEXO september 2013 www.flexography.org
