PLANTS & PROCESSES improvement. Because of our emphasis on sustainable packaging solutions, we examine the entire package lifecycle. At our CPI, we fuse our research and analysis of the lifecycle with our customers' o bj ectives to develop the optimal solution. Q: How is the Center addressing sustainability needs of the industry? Sustainability is part of MWV's DNA. We continually improve and enhance processes and products with sustainability in mind. We work directly with our customers to set and achieve sustain- ability goals. It represents a focused, ongoing commitment to make responsible business decisions that benefit our people, our society and our environment. At our CPI, we also research the role packaging plays in con- sumers' lives and how it impacts their purchasing decisions and brand loyalty-and explore the multiple factors influencing our customers' industries throughout the global marketplace. We recently conducted an in-depth study to uncover how sustainable packaging influences consumer purchasing decisions. We lever- age this insight to help our customers develop solutions that will meet their branding objectives and their consumers' needs. MWV is a founding member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, which was formally launched in 2004, and has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, MWV holds leadership positions in and actively supports several key initiatives, including: · Abundant Forests Alliance (AFA) · Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) · Duke University's Climate Change Policy Partnership · Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) · Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) · The Nature Conservancy (TNC) · World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Q: What has the CPI meant to MWV's customers? The CPI provides a stimulating environment where custom- ers can come to engage in collaborative, creative exploration of packaging design ideas and learn about the latest trends and ad- vancements in packaging innovation and consumer trends. The solutions we provide are key strategic elements in helping our customers deliver on their business goals. Q: What is the Center's No.1 priority today?
