MEMBERS & MANEUVERS 126 FLEXO | M AY 2014 MacDermid Printing Solutions Promotes Gotsick, Vest ATLANTA, GA—MacDermid Printing Solutions recently announced that Timothy Gotsick and Ryan Vest received promotions. Timothy Gotsick, Ph .D . was promoted to vice president and general manager of MacDermid Printing Solutions. Gotsick joined MacDermid in 2003 as director of global innovation. He led the development of the LUX platemaking pro- cess, MacDermid’s award winning platemaking solution. In 2011 Gotsick was promoted to vice president of technology. In this role, Gotsick is responsible for P&L for the business worldwide, including oversight of sales, marketing, manufacturing, innovation and day to day opera- tions. “Timothy has proven himself as a tremendously valuable manager in R&D and in leading the development of our successful LUX product line,” said Scot Ben- son, group president at MacDermid. “ His drive to succeed and passion for the business make him a natural choice to lead MacDermid Printing Solutions. ” Gotsick earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Reed College in 1987 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 1996. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children. Ryan Vest was promoted to global director of innovation for packaging, flexo. Vest joined MacDermid in 1998 as a research scientist and has been progressive- ly promoted to roles of increasing responsibility. In his 16 years at MacDermid, Vest has patented more than one dozen inno- vations and has been key in the development of industry changing technologies, such as LAVA thermal plate processing and LUX plate processing. He is widely known in the industry for his expertise in liquid platemaking and formulation. “Ryan’s experience with all our product lines and core technologies makes him well suited to continue the successful product line improvements that we have seen in the last several years,” said Gotsick. “Ryan’s creativity and project management skills are a unique combination that will allow MPS to continuously create innovative new products for the flexographic printing industry. ” Vest earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Berry College in 1995 and his Master of Science in Chemistry from North Carolina State University in 1998. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and three sons. Gotsick Vest KBA Names Flex Essentials Canadian Sales Agent for Flexotecnica ONTARIO, Canada—KBA North America announces that Flex Essen- tials, Inc. is its new sales agent for the Flexotecnica line of central impression flexo presses in the Canadian market. Headed up by industry veteran Jim Waslowski, Flex Essentials, Inc. is a leading manufacturers’ representative for several companies offering equip- ment and supplies to the flexographic market with extensive experience in flexible packaging. KBA North America assumed the distributorship for the Flexotecnica presses on Jan. 1 , shortly after the acquisition of that company by the KBA Group. The new subsidiary, KBA-Flexotecnica, is an Italian press manufacturer specializing in presses for printing on film, paperboard and other substrates in the growing market for flexible packaging. Waslowski is responsible for devel- oping and growing the Flexotecnica product line in Canada with a special emphasis on increasing its market share in paperboard and flexible packaging. He will be working closely with KBA’s and Flexotecnica’s existing customer base as well as prospecting for new business. “ We welcome Jim and his company, Flex Essentials, to KBA North America and wish him great success in this strategically important role with our company,” said Mark Hischar, presi- dent and CEO of KBA North America. “ With the acquisition of Flexotecnica, our parent company announced its intent to enter this key growing print market for flexible packaging.” Waslowski brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He formed Flex Essentials 11 years ago and has grown it to where it is one of the premier representatives in this industry. Prior to this position, he spent nearly 20 years in the plastics industry at Brampton Engineering starting in machine design and moving into the sales arena in which he ultimately held the position of vice president of sales. Lanska Joins Impreglon Cellramic MILWAUKEE, WI—Impreglon Cellramic is pleased to announce the addition of David Lanska to our sales team. David had formerly worked for Stork Cellramic for 27 years as a technical support spe- cialist and regional sales manager before leaving to pursue other opportunities.
