FLEXO Magazine : August 2008
FTA TODAY the Fall Conference will present solutions to. The key is for each of us to evaluate the solutions and see what fi ts best in our business model. POULSON: Stabilizing the press envi- ronment, ink calibration for process print- ing, fi ngerprinting procedures for match - ing proof to press—these are topics that we always need to go back to and discuss over and over. They are also areas where FIRST mentality applies. Q: How can, and will, networking op- portunities and the tabletop exhibit enhance and reinforce the value of the educa- tional program? LANIGAN: We have excellent partners on the vendor side of the fl exo business. Equipment, ink, print tool and parts sup- pliers; as well as consultants, have been prime movers in making Flexo one of the fastest growing printing processes. Many of these companies are taking part in the program, or have pertinent technology for processes covered on the agenda. FFTA’s Fall Conference program touches on great opportunities, but you really have to conduct one-on-one discussion around your busi- ness needs to perform great due diligence on behalf of your company. This only comes with networking at the tabletops, and engag- ing in informal discussions around the venue. So, our goal is to generate ideas, Q: When all is said and done, how will you best summarize the message on the future of packaging and premedia that FFTA will be delivering? Will attendees come away with defi nite action items? Will the association be poised to capitalize on the dialogue and strengthen its strategic plans for helping shape our industry in the future? LANIGAN: The message will be written in the panel discussions and the presenta- tions. We know the topics that we “have” to hear about, but we are not exactly sure what we are going to hear. We know we have the right people to tell us what we need to know. It is safe to say that the companies involved with packaging premedia and specifi cally fl exo, represent some of the most fleet-footed businesses in the world. This group gathers new information and provide exposure to the latest trends, and provide a tabletop venue and an informal networking locale for every attendee to gain that vital one-on-one access.
