Kodak’s Flexcel NX System Now Available for Corrugated ROCHESTER, NY—Kodak has commercially released new extensions to its Flexcel NX system, empowering customers in the postprint and preprint corrugated markets to drive significant print quality improvements while simultaneously taking advantage of increased print stability and pressroom efficiencies. Developed in response to customer demand, the new Flexcel NX Wide 5080 system and its new range of plates will extend to the corrugated sector the print excellence customers have grown to expect from Kodak flexographic solutions. With a proven track record in labels, flexibles, cartons, shrink sleeves and bags, the Flexcel NX system allows prepress providers and printers to maintain a competitive edge by delivering highly impactful packaging of exceptional quality while streamlining production costs. Through continued innovation and investment in technologies such as Kodak SQUAREspot Imaging Technology and Kodak Digicap NX Patterning, corrugated producers will now be able to take advantage of these benefits with a solution that enables expanded tonal range, higher linescreens, more efficient ink transfer and improved print quality on lower grade boards. Beta Industries Announces New Corrugated Analyzer CARLSTADT, NJ—Beta Industries has announced the immediate availability of the BetaCorr Corrugated Analyzer. BetaCorr’s optical analysis offers repeatable measurement of all critical corrugating production parameters; flute profile, creasing and washboard effect in a handheld, durable device that is user friendly and portable, to measure production parameters on the floor or anywhere else. Success and customer acceptance of a product is critically linked to its appearance. The supe- rior appearance of packaging is the best way to make your product stand out from all oth- ers. Without production analysis, the many advantages of corrugated’s strength, weight and environmental friendliness are lost when things like washboard effect, cockling and fluting defects spoil the product’s appearance. The BetaCorr Corrugated Analyzer brings these defects under control and helps produce a better, more profitable product for customers while reducing rejects and unusable product. Anderson & Vreeland Intros AVantage Liquid Photopolymer Capping Resin BRYAN, OH—AVCAP, a new AVantage liquid photopolymer capping resin that enables printers to significantly improve print quality and performance, has been introduced by Anderson & Vreeland, Inc. AVCAP is designed for use with softer base liquid photopolymer plates used for multi wall, folding carton, corrugated and wide web printing applications. The addition of AVCAP during the plate- making process creates liquid photopoly- mer plates that can image the finest details while maintaining clean, open reverses. The 60 durometer (Shore A) photopolymer resin broadens overall tone range from 2 percent to 95 percent at 133 lpi, improves ink transfer, reduces dot gain and provides excellent coverage of solids while minimiz- ing fluting.
