unit, and label and film printing capabilities. The addition of the ex- tended width to the XFlex X4 project is just for the American market, where printers have the objective to accommodate both the printing of short and medium runs of labels to long runs of flexible packaging. The XFlex X4 will not be alone—at its side, an XFlex X6 530 in 10 colors will show off its modularity, flexibility and multi process capa- bilities, since long considered a benchmark for the printing industry. During the show days, XFlex X4 will demonstrate the rapidity of changeover and the excellence in self adhesive label printing for the wine and spirits sector. On the XFlex X6, shrink sleeve printing will alternate with self adhesive converting to show the potential of the machine, in terms of versatility and highly consistent results. Precision AirConvey9 (Booth 5429) will be showing its newly released oil mist system for the automated removal of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) label matrix waste, the EnviroPulse 14. The EnviroPulse 14 is a critical component of PAC's matrix waste removal systems, which convey waste matrix pneumatically from the press. The matrix is cut into small, confetti like pieces that are whisked away to a waste bin or baler. There's no need to stop the press to rewind the matrix or worry about web breaks. RotoMetrics3 (Booth 129) will be showcasing both new and renewed products. AccuStar Life flexible dies will be displayed, along with ex- amples of continuing advances in surface treatments for flexible dies. These products support converters’ need for reliable and long lasting cutting solutions for abrasive materials and aggressive adhesive. The new through hardened, machine finished RD300 solid die will debut at the show. RD300 is a superior solution for cutting disposable med- ical substrates, dust sensitive labels and tags, in mold labels, synthetic gasket materials, Velcro, Tyvek and electronic components. RotoMetrics will be displaying new features to the popular Pin Eject die for advanced waste ejection applications. The Pin Eject solution of- fers a positive method of preventing build up of small die cut slugs, re- sulting in broken cavity blades, and also assists in the removal of these parts from the converted web. The Pin Eject solution was designed for challenging cavity sizes as small as 0.0625-in. Also set for introduction is the anodized print cylinder, which rounds out the RotoMetrics print cylinder portfolio, and is positioned as an economic alternative between standard and hardcase grades. Schober (Booth 1317) will feature rotary die cutting technology specifically designed for converting digitally or conventionally printed film and foil, laminates, coated paper laminates and composite materi- als. The Spider high speed programmable robotic stacking and count- ing system combines acceleration, velocity and precision at speeds of up to 164 fpm, allowing stacking of various types of products within the same print image. Ideal for today’s digitally printed in mold labels, this technology allows nested product configurations with a combi- 56 FLEXO | AUGUST 2014 Photo courtesy of Labelexpo Americas Photo courtesy of Labelexpo Americas Photo courtesy of Labelexpo Americas
